Drill your weakest competency: Ethical & legal reasoning

This is where your practice score sits furthest below the 70% mark. A re-weighted interleaved drill is queued — mostly this competency, with spaced retrieval of the rest.

APEX NPE is a National Psychology Exam prep engine — 329+ rationale-backed items across 8 core competencies and 4 domains, on a spaced-repetition review spine (SM-2, exam-date-aware), written by a registered Australian psychologist who has sat these exams.

Performance by domain

The four examined domains, plus psychopathology which cross-cuts Assessment and Interventions. Bar length is your practice-correct rate; the line marks the 70% pass mark.

Bank note (honest). The live bank is domain-lopsided — Communication/Psychopathology holds 281 of 329 usable items, versus Interventions (4), Ethics (11) and Assessment (14). Domains with few items show a wider confidence interval on your rate; the authoring backlog rebalances toward parity.

Competency heat-map

The prescriptive centrepiece — 8 core competencies × 4 domains, red → green. Click any cell to launch a re-weighted drill of that competency. The pulsing cell is your single weakest.

🎯
Adaptivity — the gap every AU competitor has. Every wrong item is aggregated by competency over time and feeds a re-weighted adaptive drill. Clicking a weak cell doesn't just show you a number — it builds the next session that closes the gap.

Confidence calibration

Predicted-vs-actual per domain. Before each set you rate how ready you feel; after, we compare it to how you scored. The gap is where overconfidence hides.

Predicted (how ready you felt) Actual (how you scored) Overconfidence gap
⚠️
You felt 90% ready on Ethics & Legal but scored 55%. That 35-point overconfidence gap is your highest-yield review — a confident wrong answer is the sharpest learning moment (hypercorrection). Review scheduled to the front of your queue.

Important — practice performance only. This readiness signal reflects how you are doing on APEX practice items compared with other people practising here. It is not a prediction, guarantee or estimate of your result in the real National Psychology Exam, which is set and marked independently. No pass-rate or outcome claims are made.

How scheduling works. Each grade runs SM-2: ease starts at 2.50, floors at 1.30; the interval grows by the ease factor from the third repetition, and is capped so nothing schedules past your sitting. A confident-wrong answer resets the item and jumps it to the front. Mastery is repeated retrieval across sessions — never a single correct answer.
